I have pitched a few things in Hollywood and I have many friends who have done the same. Some of them even sold a few shows in town. The process is actually very complicated, yet very funny. There is no guarantee if you sell a script or idea that it will ever get made. Many times studios will buy your script or idea simply to keep you from selling it to another.
